Robble, robble, robble...

Mane, trying to write sucks sometimes!! I think I am gonna find out that it sucks a lot of the time. I remember when I was younger. The words would flow....steady like the James River. Now it takes me 3 minutes to come up with "steady like the James River". I used to have this rhythm in my head and I could take the rhythm, that beat... and put it on paper. Now, I hear the rhythm...start to type it out, then BANG!...Cool bumps the table...the songs switches... and I'm just sitting here...squinting at the ceiling.

I think I need to read more. My vocabulary is horrible right now. I used to read much more when I was working at the Library. It's amazing how that works out. Anyway, I figure when I can't get the creative words to cooperate, I can at least count on the frustrated dialogue to surface. I'm gonna get this though. I have so many stories that need to be told. Just gotta figure out how. Well let me take my hindparts to bed. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day. I'll try writing with music tomorrow....

Be Blessed!

Look in the Mirror

The other day, I was thinking about how much attention we pay toward other folk instead of to ourselves.

We look at people Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. We judge ourselves against the things that they do. We say “look at him. I’m glad I don’t do that”, but we fail to look at ourselves and see what it is we actually do, what sins do we commit?

It is true, we could look at other people and feel really good about ourselves because there is always someone out there that is doing something worst than what we are doing...

But, why judge ourselves by such low standards????

Why look at the worst person we can find and put ourselves against them? Well, because it is easy and it is painless.

As a matter of fact, it can feel pretty good to say “I am better than you.” Right??

However, when are we going to start looking in the mirror for our self-worth and stop looking at the world? When will we stop scrolling our timelines in an effort to increase our self-esteem?

We need to log off. We need to look in the mirror. We need to discover who we truly are!

Be Blessed!!
